Style Icons: The Couples Edition
The couple that serves looks together doesn't always stay together, but that's okay.
In honor of Valentine's Day, we're celebrating some of our favorite fashionable couples. Some are still together, some aren't and, sadly, some are no longer with us (but they live on forever in our hearts). Check out our top picks below!
Bianca and Mick
Bianca Jagger and Mick Jagger were only married for about 7 years but hey, at least she got some iconic wedding photos a good last name out of it (and she was probably better off without him anyways).
Geena and Jeff
Just two beautiful, tall people in love while wearing great outfits. Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum were married from 1987-1990 which allowed for some really good red carpet looks. Lisa and Lenny
Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz were almost too perfect to be real. They were married from 1987 until 1993 and they gave they world the gift that is Zoë Kravitz.
Isabella and David
Isabella Rossellini and David Lynch started dating while filming Blue Velvet (one of our favorites). The couple was engaged and eventually broke it but not before Isabella was in Wild at Heart (our favorite favorite).
Beyonce and Jay-Z
Let me be very clear: there is only one reason Bey and Jay are on the list and it is not Jay. While he has had some very good looks lately, I think we all know who made that happen.
Jane and Serge
Can't have a list of fashion icons without Jane Birkin. She and Serge Gainsbourg were together for 13 years and also gifted the world with a wonderful daughter (Charlotte Gainsbourg), as well as some iconic matching outfit photoshoots.
Iman and David
We miss you, Space Dad but you're always on our mind. Iman and David Bowie were married in 1992 and were still together until he passed away in 2016 (sorry to be a downer). But he will live on forever through his music and iconic style which was almost as on point as Iman's. Their 90s looks were particularly good (there was a lot of houndstooth involved).
Sonny and Cher
You can't talk about 70s fashion without Cher and Sonny Bono was serving some looks as well. The two were married from 1969 to 1975 and often wore cooridinated outfits on their TV show.
Glenn and Woody
This is a couple we didn't know existed but we're really glad it did. Glenn Close and Woody Harrelson had a short fling in the 1990s when he was 15 years younger than her and quite a hunk (you go girl). Bonus points for the dog.
Anjelica and Jack
As with every other couple on this list, Anjelica Huston is the real icon here but Jack Nicholson did clean up pretty well in his day. The two dated on and off from 1973 all the way up until 1990, giving us plenty of amazing looks in the 70s and 80s.
Britney and Justin
Really just have to put these two on the list for the jress/juit situation. An extremely 2000s fashion moment that will live forever in our hearts.
